About Draw & Guess

Draw & Guess is a Pictionary-style drawing game that works best on a shared screen. You get a random word, draw it with the brush tools, and everyone watching races to guess what it is.

It is one of the easiest team icebreakers to run: there is nothing to install, nobody needs an account, and terrible drawings are usually funnier than good ones.

How to Play Draw & Guess

  1. A random word is shown at the top of the game.
  2. Draw the word using the brush, colours and sizes. Use the eraser or undo to fix mistakes.
  3. No letters or numbers in the drawing: pictures only.
  4. Everyone else calls out (or types in your meeting chat) what they think it is.
  5. Press New Word for the next round and pass the drawing role to someone else.

Draw & Guess Tips & Strategy

  • Draw the overall shape first, then add one or two details that make it unmistakable.
  • Use colour as a clue. A yellow circle is much more obviously "sun" than a black one.
  • Draw things around the word if the object itself is hard, for example a road under a car.
  • Guessers: say everything you think of. Wrong guesses often help the drawer steer you.

Playing Draw & Guess with Your Team

How to run it on a video call: one person shares their screen with the game open and draws while everyone else guesses out loud or in the chat. After each word, the drawer passes the role to the person who guessed correctly by having them share their screen next. Keep score on our free manual leaderboard. It works with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or a meeting-room TV.

Draw & Guess FAQ

Do all players need to open the game?

No. Only the person drawing needs the game open. Everyone else just watches the shared screen and guesses, so even people on phones can join in.

Can I play Draw & Guess on a tablet or phone?

Yes. The canvas supports touch, and drawing with a finger or stylus is often easier than with a mouse.

How do we keep score?

Use the free manual leaderboard linked on this page. Give a point to the first correct guesser and, if you like, a point to the drawer too.

How many people can play?

Any number. It works well from 3 people up to a whole department on a call, because only one person draws at a time.
