Word Scramble
Unscramble letters to find the hidden words!
About Word Scramble
Word Scramble gives you a jumbled word and a category, and you race the clock to unscramble it. Each round has 10 words and a 60-second timer, and consecutive correct answers build a streak for bonus points.
Choose Easy, Medium or Hard to match your mood: Easy uses short, everyday words, while Hard brings in longer words that really test your vocabulary.
How to Play Word Scramble
- Pick a difficulty level and press Start Game.
- Read the category label: it tells you what kind of word you are looking for.
- Type the unscrambled word and press Submit (or Enter).
- Stuck? Use Hint to reveal a clue, or Skip to move on without losing your time.
- Solve as many of the 10 words as you can and try to keep your streak going.
Word Scramble Tips & Strategy
- Look for common letter pairs first: TH, CH, SH, ING, ER and ED are often hiding in the jumble.
- Place the vowels. Most English words alternate consonants and vowels, so where the vowels go narrows things down quickly.
- Use the category. Knowing the word is an animal or a piece of technology removes most wrong guesses.
- Skip early rather than late. If nothing comes to mind in a few seconds, move on and protect your time.

Word Scramble FAQ
How many words are in a round?
Each round has 10 scrambled words. Your final score, words solved and best streak are shown at the end.
What do the difficulty levels change?
Easy uses shorter, familiar words; Medium and Hard use longer and less common words, so there are more possible letter arrangements to work through.
Does using a hint cost points?
Yes, a little. A hint takes 5 points off that word, but you always earn at least 5 points for a correct answer, and answering quickly adds a time bonus.
Is Word Scramble good for learning English?
Yes. Unscrambling forces you to think about spelling and common letter patterns, which makes it a useful vocabulary exercise for learners and native speakers alike.
